Bronwyn is a wonderful fall/winter ensemble. The majority of the colors are grays and black, which echo the stone donut centerpiece, but the brown and amber beads here and there add a touch of warmth. I started the necklace by doing the fringe on the donut first, and then branched into the neckpiece. The neckpiece features a variety of beaded beads (which are simply large beads made from smaller beads), each one embellished with more beads to add texture. I made the earrings to echo the fringe on the donut. The earwires are handmade from sterling silver wire. |
Made with size 11 seed beads in matte silver and black, three cuts in black, a stone donut, size 8 seed beads in matte silver and matte silvery-brown, silver leaf beads, pyrite beads, hematite beads, Czech fire-polished beads, assorted glass beads, copper wire, and sterling silver wire. |
Techniques include flat and tubular peyote stitch, fringe, embellishment, and wirework. |
The necklace measures 30" long - this does not include the centerpiece. The centerpiece is 6&1/2" long. The donut is 1&6/8" long and 1/4" thick. The beaded beads in the neckpiece range from 1&5/8" long to 2&3/4" long. The other beads in the neckpiece range in size from 4mm to 13mm. The earrings are 2&1/2" long. |
